QUALIFICATIONS:
The position of the Paraprofessional is to assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning classroom environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.
A high school diploma with at least 60 college credit hours, an associate's degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Exam is required prior to beginning employment.

Assists in the preparation of lesson and instructional materials and learns the curriculum content.

Promotes oral language development through meaningful conversations with students.

Assists individual children in need of special attention.

Implements appropriate and positive behavior management techniques.

Reinforces research-based instructional activities with students as directed.

Under supervision of a licensed teacher, prepares for classroom activities.

Guides independent activities set up by the teacher.

Assists the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as breakfast/snack, restroom, clothing needs, and the maintenance of the classroom.

Participates in daily outdoor play including interactions and guiding student learning.

Models a high level of energy and enthusiasm.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
